All over every media station you will see lots of people talking about 'wellbeing' and how their service or product can help you with your 'wellbeing' and that sounds pretty good right. I mean, Who doesnt want some 'wellbeing'? 🙋🏻♂️
However, what does this 'Wellbeing' Really mean?
When I (professionally) googled the definition of wellbeing this is what I got :
'The state of being comfortable, healthy, or happy.'
So, all of these services or products you see advertising improvements in your wellbeing, means that they are going to make you feel 'comfortable, healthy and, or happy'. 🤔
The next time you see this advertised I want you to really think about HOW this service or product claims to improve these 3 things and if you truly believe that it may be worth while investing in this service or product.
The real question I've got is.... for how LONG are they going to improve these things and How sustainable are their methods for you and your life right now?
Is this product or service supporting you all the way through this 'process' or are they just using words like 'wellbeing' because they know there are vulnerable people out there who will see this and buy the product service......
I would always recommend really looking into these adverts and questioning the sustainability and long term gain from the service/product being offered. To be honest I would actually question wether most of them even know the definition of wellbeing or if they've even bothered to google it like me 😁
Look, I'm not saying that there isn't some truth behind these wellbeing adverts because lets face it, if you buy that massage bed then yes, you're going to feel more comfortable and a little happier once your muscles are less tight and you are relaxed but... For how long? That hour or a few days after until you realise that actually the need for you to feel healthier and happier runs so much deeper than just having a massage and trying to get an instant relief!
I wrote this because,I want you to question WHY you don't feel as comfortable as you could be, as healthy as you could be or as happy as you could be. Start with looking inside you, your current lifestyle and I'd focus on this right now and see if there is something you can do to improve your wellbeing before looking elsewhere.
